This morning, I started up the car as usual, and I'm backing out of my drive way. As soon as I start applying the brakes, it sinks in, with such ease, and no grip would be there. What could be causing this?

check your fluids, check brake booster line for air leaks, check for puddles of fluids, check for leaking calipers. Check you pads and rotors to make sure everything is in spec. Also when you bleed your brakes make sure you follow the fsm and do it with the car on. Get one of those brake bleeder kits with the clear hose so you can see if any air bubbles are coming out. Good luck.

after doing all that, get in the car and push on the pedal with the car off. keep the pressure constant. assuming there are no external leaks, if the pedal sinks to the floor, you have a bad master cylinder.

i would gues you have a bad seal in your master cylinder. the way brakes are set up now a days is that the master cylinder has 2 paths out each controling 2 wheels. if you get a leak you still have 2 brakes. if its not a 240 and has rear drums the adjustment might be off. good luck try bleading first eiast and cheepist
