I was looking in the Coupe FSM and stumbled upon this...sorry if it has been discussed.

ENGINE START BY I-KEY - Engine start function mode can be changed to operate (ON) or not operate (OFF) with this mode.

Does anyone know anything about this?

That would be so awesome if its like some secret function that is built into the key but Nissan wont make work unless if you pay for a remote start. I doubt it though . That remote start would have been oh so useful this weekend when I was at work and my black car was baking in the sun when it was like 100 degrees.

According to my service adviser, that function is...You have to plug the i-key into the dash, then press the Ignition button.

Obviously un-informed... they can make a nice payday on selling you the programming..

My nissan tech is in the dark about how to do this so im no help... He DID show me how to reprogram a keyfob for nissans without the intellikey.. its so stupidly simple...

One of my friends has a cell phone blocker (from thailand i think) its the size of a cell fone.. but blocks signal in a 30ft diameter... cost him $60 i think.. but he gets to sit in silence on the train home... Itd be a kicker to get one and drive on the road with it... find someone on the fone... motion for them to hang up... and if they dont, drop their call for them lol

From my understanding you have to use a Bypass module. The CAN-SL2.

I believe rjdmmfl1 has this setup on his coupe.

My bad I explained it wrong. You use the CAN-SL2 with an after market car alarm w/remote start.
