s14 trannies are actually a bit longer due to this weird metal and rubber collar thing they put on at the tailshaft. Trust me i know.... you have to cut it off if you want to put an s14 transmission in your s13. it took me at least a half hour to figure out why i couldnt get my drivcveshaft to fit the first time.

and as stated before the only other difference besides the different speed sensors is that there is a Crank Angle Sensor in the top of the S14 bellhousing. If you wanted to put an s13 transmission in your s14 you would need to drill a hole to fit this.
ok i c, i was always told they were exactly the same but i trust what ur saying

I'm sure it's been answered, but I literally JUST swapped a 96 DE into my 91 s13. I used my 91 DE wiring harness. I had to switch over the distributor then reset the timing, as well as switch the throttle position switch. s14 TPS has a wires coming out of it going to a plug, as well as a place for a plug that goes into it. s13 has only one. I'm running my tuned 213 ecu. everything works except my speedo cause s14 and s13 speed sensors are different, I just need to put the s13 speed sensor into the s14 transmission that is in my car.

I'd love more info on this. I have a S14 KA in my S13 right now, even if I swap a S13 Dizzy and run S13 ECU and Harness, I'll still need to have a S14 MT? I have an S13 one on now. I'd LOVE if someone can confirm or deny this. Could be quite a setback for me.

Not sure if this is true, but I believe s14 and s13 motor mount brackets are different. I had to put on my s13 brackets because the s14 brackets wouldn't line up. Switched to s13 and it lined up perfectly.

I just got a 93 hatch with no drivetrain and plan on putting a 95 KA with 93 transmission. I planned on using a 95 engine wiring harness and ecu. I've had difficulty finding any information on this configuration other than that I would need to hardwire several wires under the dash since the plugs are different.

Now I would like to have an operational obd2 system so that I could use my obd2 reader, if I was to also use the dash wiring harness from the 95, would I need anything else to make it all work?

Thank you.

check to make sure you have fuel pressure, your injectors are opening, compression, and spark. if you have all that check that you have the timing correct.

i used a s14 motor and transmission in my s13 and i eliminated all the EGR and emissions crap...

basically i just didnt put the egr back on and the charcoal canister and all the vacuum galleries and the solenoids on the back of the head for the swirl valve and all that...
