I would like to check the fuel pressure of my car under WOT and other driving conditions, instead of buying a fuel pressure gauge I thought I could just plumb in my autometer electrical oil pressure sending unit to take a reading. I can just get a tee fitting and install it temporary into the fuel line, take my readings and put it back to normal. I don't want to buy a fuel pressure gauge just to look at it a couple of times.

Think this will work?

I can't see any problems with it, but maybe someone else has more insight into something that I'm overlooking.

should work, make sure you flush it out good, I can't imagine your injectors would enjoy injecting oil.

heck, I used a $3 air pressure gauge to monitor fuel pressure when I was doing some diagnosing on my 199 sentra se-r. it worked fine.I think you would be fine, might want to call autometer just to be sure.

Well is it electric? I have an electric. All it measures is the amount of pressure. If you got a mechanical it migh be different because you have that long nylon line.

How hard would it be to install a oil pressure gauge? Like one found at a local auto store?

you need a tee and an adapter to hook it up to your oil pressure switch by the oil filter. If you're not to lazy to find these, then its pretty easy
