I have a navigation system up front and a rear fold down DVD screen (with DVD player in the very back). I have seen people insert a switch from the navi "brain" to the navi screen, into which they splice their DVD output, allowing their front passenger to view DVD on the navi screen, while the rear passengers can still watch in back. Here is a link to such a splice (FX): http://forums.freshalloy.com/u...&vc=1

Has anyone tried this in a Pathfinder/QX4? The above link doesn't include how to splice from the DVD player either.

A local car audio/video shop quoted me $500 for a very expensive switch and a small amount of labor to do the same thing, but I was wondering if there are any other ways to accomplish.

Very cool! If my antique Infiniti's had DVD players or navigation systems.

There was a post about this in the audio forum. It had a link to a device like you describe. I remember it being more expensive than I thought it should be (maybe $200), but nowhere near $500.

Couldnt find the thread in the audio forum. I did find these two links from mp3car.com.First one is a thread about using the nav screen in a 350Z and the second is the guy's website. Maybe the screens/nav units are similar...http://www.mp3car.com/vbulleti...15854h ... m/z/navpc/
