First off, I have been following your forum for several months, lots of great people here. I am currently swapping out the ka24e for the DE in my 89' fastback, (purchased the car a year ago and only drove it three days till the motor went up in smoke) I purchased a 91 240 SE HICAS for $150 and drove it home so that is my donor car. I was wondering if the HICAS power steering pump is any different from the non-HICAS equipped car. I have a 89 FSM and soon to buy a 91 FSM to work out any bugs that I may encounter. Does anyone know if this HICAS pump will cause problems in the swap (different lines, or fittings etc?) thanks for advice in advance.

since you got a hicas car, i would swap the steering rack too. it has a quicker ratio. also, get the rear sway bar, its thicker.

quicker ratio huh?-- didn't know that. The guy who owned the car planted the nose in a ditch and really trashed the drivers side undercarriage; badly bent tie rod. I am afraid to change the rack because it is probably trashed from the impact. if the rack checks out ok, i will definately install it! thanks!

well if the tie rods are trashed, you can always get the tein hard tie rods. they only run 160 for the inner and out tie rod for both sides. this is the setup im going to be runnin.
