I recently turboed my KA24DE. I used the factory thermostat for a day because my engine overheated. Right now i'm not using any Thermostat so it doesnt overheat. I looked at it and saw that a seal on the Thermostat was broke. I was wondering if using the factory thermostat on a KA-T is safe? Does anyone else use the Factory Thermostat?

I'm using a OEM thermostat for years now on my KA-T.

Make sure you bleed all the air bubbles out of your system and see if the thermostat is in working order.

Ok thats good to know. What kinda set-up u run? I basically just have a KA with all the parts that are used when turboing the SR. Like Piping, SMIC, Injectors, Oil lines, Turbo/WG, BOV from an SR...etc. Custom Manifold, Tuned Ecu. Do u use an o2 on ur set-up?

I've used OE thermostats on my KA-T setup before with out any overheating issues.

If you're overheating because of heat soak you'll need better air flow through your radiator, which means getting electric fans, an oil cooler, or both.
