ive been wondering if i could use a aem ems for a ka on the rb motor if i just change the pin out on the ems?

since i have to do the wiring anyways

since you can change basically everything in the aem ems would if be possible to do that

i bought a ems for the ka but i want to upgrade to the rb so that y i wanted to know

sorry for my horrible grammar in advance since i sleep thought most of my English classes

no.not enough drivers available...you could possibly reconfigure it but hope you can make up a jumper harness.

ok i actually found out the sumone made this ems fit a 2jz putting the coils together 1-6 2-5 3-4 and changing the firing order. and the ems should have enough for the injectors. so i am going to to make a jumper harness it should work.

if this helps on making the jumper harness, get z32 ecu plug

Well can the AEM do Batch fire Injection??You can then run it like a NICS rb20 and splice the wires.

As for the ignition you could switch to waste spark, that might help you out. Dunno how that would work out though.

Maybe make it think its only a 3 cyl. With waste spark and batch fire....

I was trying to figure out the firing order along with the ignition timing. But didn't make sense to me. Probably way wrong.

Firing order = 1-5-3-6-2-4---------------P-C-I- E-I-EE-P-C- I-C-II-E-P- C-P-CC-I-E- P-E-P P-C-I- E-I-EE-P-C- I-C-I

How much can you sell the KA EMS for?I would rather do that and then buy a RB specific one.

Much less headache....

There are more than enough injector drivers (10) and enough coil drivers (4) for something like that to work. You're on your own on exactly what to do but it looks like it's possible.

injection would be just like the rb

but for the ignition i am gonna trick it to think it a 3 cylinders and just have (1-6) (2-5) (3-4) wire togather

while firing 1-2-3-1-2-3 wich will end up being (1,6)-(2,5)-(3,4)-(1,6)-(2,5)-(3,4) same thing as 1-5-3-6-2-4 just that the sparkplugs sparks 2x during the 4strokes right before the intake stroke and power stroke

ok ive been doing more research if you have a 4cylinder ems a nissan one all you have to do is make a jumper harness and it will work with the base map

since i have the aem pro i got the instruction and it have a ecu pinout for the ems and i compared it side by side

there is 116 pins and pretty much they are the same just match the 2 harness and you'll be set.

the only things that i am not sure its how an i going to get a plug to get it to fit the rb harness maybe i have to break it off a ecu and if the vct would work

your going to need a plug that will goto the ecu and a female z32 or rb ecu plug, i would ask haltech or greddy if they sell them from their patch harnesses , as far as the vct, just wire it externally to a msd rpm activated switch (thats what i did) the solenoid just needs power at a certain rpm range it basically reads rpm and either gives or takes the ground in a selected rpm range, i have mine wired to add the ground to engage the solenoid within 5400 to 6200

Just get a ka Plug and depin both plugs and reinsert the rb wires into the ka plug. For vtc the aem has configurable out puts just look and you find the right settings. Everything you need is there.

yup thanks eberyone the ka plug i have a few harness that i can take the out on. and for the rb side i was thinking of going to a car graveyard for a z32 ecu. i'll just open up the ecu and break the plug piece and use that
