Hello, im running no powersteering now and am going to keep it like that i was curious if the stock powersteering rack and pinion can handle it? I was also thinking of replacing the rack and pinion i have now with a hicas rack and run no p/s, any info and advice would be appreciated.

Another thing sometimes my wheel shakes when i drive over certain kinds of pavement or down hills, it shakes when just driving sometime and when i brake, any ideas?

Thanks

I would also agree that it can't be good. Maybe someone that did an SR swap and didn't hook up there power steering could chime in.My brother-in-law did a SR swao and didn't hook up his power steering, he has a '90, and hasn't had any problems yet but it has only been about 5 months or so.

As far as the shaking wheel does I would jack up your car and see if you can move your wheel. It could be a hub bearing or a tie-rod end could be going bad. Unless you mean your steering wheel shakes then that could be any number of things.

I haven't had my ps hooked up for about 2 years but the seals did blow out after a little more than a year... my car has 200 somthin thousand miles on it though so ps would prob have gone out anyways...
