here is my question on parallel wiring if i attach a hot lead to a metal plate and a ground to the led wire will that work.... basically i would solder the positive and negative side of all but one led to the metal plate with power in it, and on the last led in the sequence i leave the ground lead out and ground it... will this work or will only the last led light up? or will i create multiple shorts on each led soldered to the plate....... i was going to test this idea out first on just a row of 5 for my glove box. the reason i want to do this is so they are all aligned in a row and to save on wiring times supply and such. so any one know? or do i have to do it the normal way with lots of wires?

wont work, if you solder both leads of anything to the same voltage source, you will be grounding it out because both sides will see the same voltage.

easiest way is to daisy chain a few of them together. positive lead to the negative lead of one and that next one's positive to another negative, etc until you have a chain with one positive and one negative.

p.s. led's are usually 3.3 - 5V so if you're using a car battery better have a nice resistor too!

yea i have the resistors to go with it, thats why i want to parallel so they all use the same voltage after resistor. i was hoping by some chance of luck that plate idea would work but its a no go. i will still have a plate to mount to but now its going to be plastic.... and now its going to take longer to hook up. but whatever it will work now got me some green 45,000 mcd led. whatever i want to light up is going to light up
