using a different window wiper switch

I got a 99 Fronter 2.4 2wd. What I was wondering is if you can use a different wiper switch from another car to this one. The Frontier only has two settings, slow and fast. It doesnt have the option to have it only go once every few seconds

First others will never plug in and second I looked into this for my hard body, i want intermittent wipers but it is more than switch. You have to have a delay circuit and it is different on most vehicles. I found a path finder with the stalk and stuff but my harness would have to be changed. J C Whitney offers a delay that you wire in and is cheap been thinking of trying it myself. It has a knob for amount of delay and you just turn on wiper to low setting they activate no delay or dial in amount of delay wanted. Seems the cheap easy way to go.
