If you have a 2006 or 2007 M and want to upgrade your brake pads with OEM stuff, buy these part number pads, which are slightly better than what came originally:Front Pads: D1060-EG51ARear Pads: D4060-EG50CAnd always make sure you have the shims when replacing pads, they are necessary to prevent sticking and squealing and static wear.

Good looking out there buddy.

What are those pads for?

That look like information that should be added to one of the resource stickies.

EDIT- I really like the new avatar.

Those pads are the ones used in the second generation G35 and G37, unless it has the Akebono brakes. Its also the pads used in the second series M models and the EX. They are just an updated alternative number for customers who may have asked for a little more out of their brakes without going aftermarket.and it took me like an hour to make that avatar. I love it though.

...wouldn't that be for 2nd series (or generation) M owners?

1st was '03 & '04 as I understand it.

Also...is the FUGA (as it is/was sold in Japan) applicable to the 2nd gen only?

or does FUGA refer to the 1st gen only?

2nd Generation M series (don't forget the M30!) is a Y34, but only sold in the US with the VK45DE. In Japan, it was a Gloria/Cedric, but never had the VK45DE.

3rd Generation is Y50.

Wonder if like the original G50, the very soft (for very short initial cold stopping conditions) but dusty pads were replaced with a harder formulation in the second year of production?

Improvement ("upgrade") in performance, or not?

My mistake everyone, let me elaborate.1st series Y50 models. The Y34 is the first generation M. The M30 was F31 and is not a generation line of the Y34 or Y50.It was more with the Z31 300zx and JPY series cars.

Yes Max the pads i mentioned are an improvement.

Uh ... so, these pads are for the Y50, right?

I got a bit confused along the way - just my age showing, I guess.

Noob, lol

Poyzinous- I too had to spend some time learning the model codes once I joined here, I still get the old ones mixed, although a great way to describe the example I tend to get the alphanumeric concoctions mixed up frequently.

Good info though. There are great options for OE brakes for the people like me who tend to put OE things from other cars into their car. That's just fun to me though.

Thanks to FAST, I know every infiniti vehicle model/generation code off the top of my head. It's useful sometimes. you have a jpy32. I have a V35. Almost bought a F50. would like(for some reason) a G50. And of course for towing them all, a JA60. With stillen headers and exhaust. Gotta hear that 339ci big block rumble.

And the G50 is neither a FGY33 nor a F50, but it is the first Q45 in that series.

Your point is........?

Y34 is most definitely not the first generation of M series!

That's splitting hairs, but technically accurate.

Forgive me Brian, but I dont see where you're going with this...I was never relating or mentioning the chassis tree of the Q...

anyway (steve) I think he was just splitting an already split hair... I dont consider my V35 to be the "3rd" generation Infiniti G. The P10 and P11 weren't meant by infiniti to be predecessors to the G. It was released as a new sibling to the Infiniti family, not as a rebirth from the G20. Same idea with the M. But Brian you're entitled to your own idea so I accept your thoughts...
