Used Turbo?

Anyways, I've been wondering, is it a good idea to use a used turbo? I've recently been hearing stuff about people's KA's blowing up because they've been using a used turbo.

The turbos don't cause the engine to blow because they fail. They just fail and you get no boost, or blow oil all over the place.

Good rule of thumb is: Someone offers a used turbo, RUN! Unless, you know the condition of the turbo, know how to examine one carefully for signs of excessive wear, know the person who used the turbo very well, etc, don't bother with it.

^ Good advice. If youre new to turbocharging, I think you should hold out for a new one. One less part to fail or troubleshoot after your install...
