Used rims/tires

Hey guys..

Looking at winter rims/tires right now and dont want to spend 1.5g's on them new here in Canada. (Tires here are 2x as expensive for some unknown reason) .I'm thinking of picking up a set of used rims / tires that are of high quality for half the price. Although I'm not sure of what to watch out for.. What happens if the rim is warped? I'll never be able to tell. The rims im looking at were sold to a G35 owner, 215/55/17 our stock size and im assuming the offset will fit us as well. The rims have been used for 3 years but the owner said he barely used them.

Anything to look out for when buying used rims/tires? (Other then the obvious tread and such)

BTW, Should i get them balanced or have they already been balanced? (They were used on a g35 before, im assuming they are already balanced.)

Look for curb damage, even tire ware, also look for lots of weights on the rims (used to compensate for balance problems). Getting them re-balanced will tell you if they are 100% sound!
