Hello,

A tiny amount of radiator fluid is steaming from my upper radiator hose, where it meets the plastic sleeve of the radiator itself. I have determined that the sleeve is cracked, so how much should I expect to pay for an S13 radiator at a junkyard?

Any other time I would pay big money for a Fluidyne, but I'm tapped out so junkyward is going to have to do. Also, is there an easy way to pressure test a radiator? Maybe tape up the lower hose outlet and fill it with water?

Thanks in advance!

Used radiator is a BAD idea. Radiator Barn has them for around $100.

I had it crack too on my last 240. If there is still a some room left you might be able to slide the radiator hose up and tighten it up. You can check the classified section and post a wanted to buy ad.

I checked out Radiator Barn and the $100 radiator has an outlet for a transmission cooler, ie auto transmission radiator. Is that a concern or what? Also, do they ship via UPS?

Eh Hitman? UPS?

The transmission cooler lines won't affect anything. I used one on my manual RB for about a week with no problems.

No need to worry, they're self-contained... Just don't use them.

I think they ship FedEx, but either way I've always had good luck with RadBarn.

I ordered one from them and got it next day! the plastic part broke on mine as well. The new one is all metal though so it should be good for awhile. Really nice part I would recommend them.

Hello,

Thanks for the info and the website. I just ordered a new unit from Radiator Barn and I guess I'll give UPS a second chance. However, mark my words Hitman, if UPS screws me again..........

I'm not buying those adjustable endlinks from you!!!!

Yeah,

I had the same problem. I did this:

1991Nissan240SXAll ModelsWith AC

Boom! $100.75

If you choose SE or anything other than "all models" you get their all aluminum race spec radiator for $300 or whatever.

Book - I don't sell endlinks.

Good luck with your radiator.

p.s. $99 was just a guess - I'm good, eh?

Damn! That's right, I'm thinking about SPL......well, if Radiator Barn screws me by shipping UPS and THEY screw me like they just did.......

I concur with Greg, radiator barn has great prices and awsome radiators. They use CSF at least that is what they sent me for my s14. Some kind of brass alloy, 5/16" thicker than the stocker, oem mounting brackets, no plastic. Money well spent.
