Hey All,

I'm looking at a 2008 G37S with 30,000 miles on it. The car has had two owners already.

I found the records in the car's trunk and noticed that the owners had been using conventional oil in the car's engine. 5w30 and at least one of the fillups was 5w20 (according to the record). I'm hopeful that they brought in the ester based oil, but I can't tell you if they did.

Is this a deal-breaker? Is the engine going to be crap because of this?

Thanks all!

No issue. I didn't switch to Synthetic until my 3rd or more oil change. Ester oil may quiet down the motor a bit but it's not a necessity.

Contact you local Infiniti and have them run the car for repair/maintenance records too.
