Hey everyone, I'm going to get rid of my 240sx and purchase a Z within the month. After reading as much info as I get and read, I do have a couple questions.

#1: If I purchase a used car from a non-nissan dealership that has under 50k miles, can the factory warranty be transferred to my name or am I S.O.L on that one?

#2: With the above said, if the factory warranty does not transfer to me, what's the cost of the TSB for the tire feathering issue? (03-04 issue?)

#3: Can I get the nissan extended warranty if the car is bought at a non-nissan dealership? Is it even worth it?

Thanks in advance for any helpful feedback.

ok first I do not recomend extended warranties, they are playing the odds and if it weren't profitable for them they would not be so comonplace these days

Second, recalls that have not yet been performed on a car will still be handled free at any Nissan dealership and has nothing to do with milage or warranty, the tire issue was fixed under warranty on early cars, I doubt you can find one that hasn't been fixed

As for balance of factory warranty it's covered and does not require any transfer for the advertised year or milage stated

The Factory warranty for the Z is 3 years 36K miles and Drive train is 5 years 60K miles. Where ever you buy you can always get their warranty, just make sure you ask all the questions. Calculate it, most of the times the things you need to change are not covered by any extended warranty.
