I'm about to buy a used m35 07. When I went there the battery was dead. Not really stressing it because it wasn't the alternator. My question is, if the battery is dead that means any issue with the car that would be logged in the computer is wiped correct? So if the check engine light WAS on, the causes for that would no longer be available unless the car is driven for a while? Or would the issues pop up regardless once you plug in the ODB monitor?

Thanks.

I'm not sure of the answer to your original question... but I do very highly recommend finding a good battery somewhere that you can pop in and giving the car a nice long drive. That way you can see if anything strange pops up or there are any weird sounds, sights or smells. Cars can hide a heck of a lot of things undriven as I'm sure you know.

Good luck on your buy!
