I read the other day that the current great used car deals are just about over and if you wait youll have to pay more for the same used car

this true ? and why ?

seemed fairly right as i had also heard that the used luxary car market crashed a few months after 9-11 and so there were great deals on used luxo cars (like mine)

at any rate i think the economy is bouncing back

Did you know that when a bullet strikes a surface at an angle of 45 degrees or less it doesn't ricochet as the old John Wayne movies would tell it? It actually bounces. I think the economy acts in the same fashion. I'll tell you this, and it's a conversation held on this lot in the dark corners...the economy as it stands had little effect on the car market.

There are small companies and small lots that make up one big business. Just because Crazy Joe's Used Cars hasn't sold a car in a week doesn't mean people aren't buying. It just means they're buying from the big dogs because when business IS good they are the lots who advertise in preparation for the slow times.

If anyone from the Dallas area is reading this, you'll remember the big ice storm in February. There were schools, businesses, banks and stores closed. There were probably even some car lots closed. I wouldn't know. I was busy closing a deal because this gentleman had told himself he was going out to get himself a new car and certainly enough he did. Mind you we only sold four cars on the worst day of the ice, we still sold cars.

A marketing tool/military tactic is the use of three types of information. Information, misinformation and disinformation. The articles stating that cars are less expensive than they've ever been or there's not a better time to buy a used vehicle....they utilize all three types at once and it's hard to get factual information so that you can benefit. I think the key to when it is and isn't a good time to buy a car is not in the economy but in the buyer. If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred onces....You have to study if you want to buy this car. Stoneage, I think the author of that article is a great salesperson. He's got at least one person asking the question "why?" He's completed his goal in grabbing the attention of the reader. I wonder if the rest of that article outlined an estimate of the next time buying a car would be as oppurtune?

Okay...is anyone still awake?
