Considering a used 2011 or 2012 M37x. Have seen a lot of info. on the web about the transmission hesitation/jerkiness issues. Has this definitely been fixed with an Infiniti update? I couldn't tell from my searches whether it has been resolved or not.

Any other concerns or recommendations in looking at these cars on the used market?

I think that could be considered a trait of the whole lineup of Ms. It's a somewhat aggressive car. Sometimes it's annoying, but many times it's quite helpful and fun. With some finesse you can avoid jerkiness 9 times out of 10.

I think there is a reflash / update available for the transmission for these cars. There's a post floating around here that someone posted after having it done. He reported a "big" improvement after it was done. There is also a reference to this on a few other forums as well... Some saying they didn't notice any difference, and some saying it was a major improvement.

Just for reference, I test drove a used 2011 M37S last month on 3 separate occasions, and did notice a slight hesitation on two of those drives. To me it wasn't nothing major, and only occured in low speed transition. I think a quick reflash /update would take care of that though.

White Rush - Thanks much, this is the issue I was referring to. I have seen the same posts. Quite a number of complaints, but then only a few referring to positive or negative resolution after the flash update from Infiniti. I certainly will evaluate for myself on the test drive. Glad to hear that your impressions were quite positive.

The reason I posted the question here is that this seems to be the most active M forum on the web. Many of the other forums seem very quiet - perhaps because the M is not a huge seller compared to the G. This is one of the reasons that I am interested in the M. I currently own a 2004 G. At the time I bought it, the G was somewhat progressive in styling and not common on the road. Now it seems to be aging on the styling front and all too ubiquitous on the roads. I know there is an update coming next Spring, but not sure I can wait that long. The 2011+ M I feel looks very sharp and has a lot of what I would be looking for in a performance sedan - but a serious transmission lag could negate all the other qualities.
