Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a device that can record the footage from the surround view in the rogue? Would be a perfect dashcam.

Thank you

impossible and horrible idea. The cameras are very low resolution, you would never get to read a plate more than 5 feet away. Just get a proper dash cam, I got one for about $100 and it works amazing. HD Video. Hardwired power and all. I set it and forget it.

I have been considering this exact dash cam. Does it come with any viewing software that shows the GPS locations? The one I have currently used Quicktime to do that and now that Quicktime is not supported on Windows, I am not able to view the camera footage with a GPS overlay (without buying new software).

This is what most people on the dash cam forums use. It works great and it light weight

Hmm, thought you knew about insurance scammers faking being hit by cars. But yea, mostly it helps if you're involved in any type of incident.

That, and to protect yourself from over-zealous traffic police. I have been ticketed for running a red light and for speeding in a school zone. In the 1st instance the camera showed the light was green. In the second, the camera showed that the flashing school lights were not flashing because school was not in session that day. Judge let me off both times. He didn't have the cajones to ding the officer with perjury though.

And occasionally you catch something interesting like a coyote or a snapping turtle on the road.

Here is how I installed my camera

Viofo A119S hardwired power to the fuse box on the drivers side. Ran wires up the headliners and down the drivers A pillar. Very Very Easy! I used "Add a fuse" to add a power wire for the camera off of the fuse for the cigarette lighter fuse power. Now when I open the doors, the power is energized and the camera comes on immediately. When I park and turn off the car, there is a nice delay of about 30 seconds after I lock the door where the power stays on, then the camera gently powers down until the next time I unlock the doors to get in.
