usb port on dnx 5120

where did you guys run your usb port to?

lol. the usb port, i believe for jumpdrive and etc., wired up to the unit in back. i was wondering if anyone ran it into their middle console by the shifter or if anyone ran it to the glove box. and if they did how so.i can post a pic tonight if anyone wants one.

oh yeah, I actually just ran that one and the ipod one and left them hanging down from the area underneath the center cnsole,,, the one that's about calf level and pops out ... in any case, I have them running from there and then I leave them underneath the floor mat

i ran it into the center compartment just below the head unit. pretty easy too, just get the shift knob off, then the plate, and pull out the compartment while disconnecting the power outlet. i used a 1 inch spade drill bit since i needed to fit the ipod adapter through it. ill post some pictures later if i get the chance

when i took out the shifter, i noticed it would probably be pretty easy to bring it into the center console, also... but of course you still need to drill a hole.

when the dealer installs the ipod adapter they usually run it into the glove compartment, which i think would be more difficult, but if nissan can do it, i'm pretty sure someone on this forum knows an easy way to do it
