Does anyone know how to install a USB port into either the ecu or the harness? I have the software to reprogram my ECU, just no way to send it there. It's a Ka24de.

Your looking for either a consult cable or a emulator board (which allows live programming). You can't just reprogram your stock eprom that runs your ecu. You need to add a daughterboard for what I believe your looking for. Then you use your software to tune your program and save it to an eprom.

Wait...so with nistune I would need to solder in the $190 daughter board, buy the $80 consult cable, and buy a license? (I also thought you can get it fro free) Then from there I hook up my laptop to it and send a base tune to the board and it is all done? And if I want a retune I just send a new tune via the laptop? Hmmmmm this is looking more and more appealing than a standard rom tune...

Looks like he was trying to run up 10 posts to use Classifieds. We're cleaning that up. Sorry.

CalumRT (search calumsult) offers endless home brewed upgradeability. Total cost is 350/375 s13/s14 (using free TunerProRT software or you could purchace Nistune software if you prefer, the ecu comes with usb that incorporates both real-time tuning and consult capability thru the one cable, at the same time AND its made in the US by a very cool individual). Recent additions have been Launch Control, controlling cooling fan turn on temperature, TP logging and the ability to turn off a whores full of power robbing features buried in our ecus.

480sx, I didn’t know you swung that way...

Wow, calumsult is most likely what I'm going to go with now. As long as he can send me a base tune with it I'm definitely going to get it. is 350 the price for the real time option?

the prices are shiped (once you get your stock ecu to him). He typically proveds a generic base tune to get you started but the idea behind RT ecus such as Calum\Nistune is that you tune yourself.
