USB Port - Charging Issue

Anyone seeing any problems with charging an android phone via the USB charging port? It shows the charging indicator on my phone but still ends up dead. Phone is a Moto G. Works fine when I charge via a DC outlet.

This is normal. USB never provided a lot of power you can even confirm with your laptop/desktop. USB provides 350-500mah and usb 3.0 provides 1A. For a good charge you need at least 1A (sometime around 2A depending on the phone). Download an app or two on the phone to find the current of charging to know if you get enough of juice off your charging source.

Bummer, I was excited to use that for charging instead of my DC plug as I don't have any other use for the USB. Thanks for the info though, appreciate it.

Same issue with my Samsung S4, shows that it's charging but it doesn't really charge anything. Works fine with the wife's iPhone 5s since I believe charges with 1A.
