Hi all,

New to the forum, and just got my 2011 SV with the Premium pkg. Loving the car, but having problems with the USB connectivity.

The ipod nano/blackberry will not be recognized by the system...it's the 'player type B' stereo system in the user manual.

I connected the ipod nano (v1.1.3) as well as a Blackberry Bold via the USB port, and select AUX on the stereo...but nada (settings for AUX vol was set to Medium on stereo unit). The manual says when you go to the AUX mode, you have to select 'USB mode' or 'iPOD mode.' I assume you get to these by hitting AUX on the stereo head (kinda like you have to in order to scroll thru FM1, FM2). However, I keep hitting AUX and it just says AUX on the display and never changes to a USB or iPod mode. Anyone know how the stereo is supposed to recognize the USB device if connected???

The only way the iPod played was if used a different cable for the ipod that had the AUX cable (so connecting the USB and AUX ports). The sound played through the system, but nothing was controlled through the stereo/steering wheel controls...had to control everything thru the ipod itself.

Any help would be appreciated!

USB will recognize only simple devices such as flash drives. I found out that long time ago when my friend got pioneer dvd unit in his car and we tried to connect different devices like 500GB external HDD, Samsung BlackJack 2 with 16GB sd card inside but nothing was working/recognized. Only simple storage devices with small memory on it.

I can't speak for the 2011 SV specifically but USB support is going to depend the head unit. Some head units can control iPods via USB. Some will support smartphones with mass storage mode enabled on the device to access music stored on the media card.

On my 2011 SL, external HDD is recognoized on USB port. The drive is 2.5" laptop drive in USB 2.0 enclosure, so it does not need any external power.

I have not tried any mp3 devices...

Just tested 500GB externall HDD with external power on my avic-x910bt and it doesn't recognize. While my flashdrive on 4Gb is working fine the one that on 8Gb is not recognizing. I guess mine is supporting of maximum 4GB. Sounds like takeshi is right...it depends on the unit.

Hi, I have a rogue sv 2011, an had the same problem when coonecting a usb key or a hdd drive. But then, I realized thar thi also was happening hen connecting ne sme devices to the playsttion 3. I know i may look like it doesn't have nothing to do, but it does, as to make your playstation recognize the device, you have to make that your devices are formatted as FAT32 and not SFTS. Ne tr it on your Rogue, i'm quite sur it's gonto work

I have a 2011 SV and my 2nd Generation iPod Touch is recognized and does play both the music and audiobooks. It does take a bit of time (60-90 seconds) for the Aux to recognize the iPod though, it is not instantaneous. The problem I'm having is that according to the owner's manual there is supposed to be a Play/Pause icon on the touchscreen of the audio/nav system -- and there isn't (just random/repeat/menu). So -- when I connect my iPod, it automatically starts playing music and the only way to pause or stop play is to switch from AUX/iPod to XM or CD or some other function. My Rogue is exactly 7 days old so I'm not sure whether new firmware in my iPod has negated the play/pause function or whether there is actually something wrong with my system. And, I've gone through just about every menu option available to see if I could fix it. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.
