Good morning. I just purchased an '06 M35 with Nav and SAT tuner. My radio does not show SAT but it does have CAT. I installed the BT45 per the directions as I unplugged the tuner and installed the new harness. I went to select the SAT but the RADIO will not switch over to it. I changed my grounding point from the Tuner metal box to a another point and I noticed it would spark when I grounded it.

Is there anything I can do to check to see if the radio sees the XM/SAT module? Really looking forward to this and it bugs me. Thanks!

So you hit the radio button 2-3-4 times (forget how many) to try to get into SAT and it didn't do it? You should be able to get into it since you have the CAT button...what tuner did you unplug?

Here are a couple of things to try:

http://www.usaspec.com/t-faq.aspx#bt45infi - check to see if you have grounded it properly per the diagram

Have you done the setup as described in the manual?

That's correct. I tried to change over to the SAT prior to install and was unable to. I noticed the tuner box. I installed the box per directions and grounded the box to the screw that is on the tuner cradle.

I tried it the first time and it wouldn't switch to SAT, and no joy. I checked the harness and wiring and it looked good. I ended up changing the ground point to one on the roof of the trunk. It sparked slightly when I did this meaning it was a good ground.

I have read through the troubleshooting guide and did everything they said. I think this is an Infiniti harness issue.

Would running stereo diagnostics help with it and what would I look for?

Thanks for the help

Press your radio button a couple times till you get the xm stations. I don't have navi but I do have the BT45 installed
