What's your point with this post? Are you surprised that killing can be done with such little emotion? War isn't a pretty thing, welcome to reality.

yes i know what war is about and i know that killing is part of it but damn they wernt puting the people in the hellacopters life at risk and to have no emotion about it is just horrable, true i dont know the reason behind the misson but there is no pont to go out and kill everything that is moving.. there is a jail system for a reason, why not capture the people? i can see killing somone if they are threting your life but that dosnt seem to be what was going on there.

Tight video but :eek::eek::eek:

I don't understand why they would shoot defenseless people at night. It looks like they were on a reconnaissance mission. Where did you get the video from? I doubt they meant to kill any of them, because they would've proceeded to shoot the 3rd guy when he went down..

Did we watch the same video?

As the daughter of a former USAF pilot I really have mixed feelings about this. My father and I really aren't on speaking terms.

like playing halo with friends...

it's professionalism, they're not yelling "oh yeah take that rag head" or anything like that, they just have a job to do and do it.

Ever seen the video of the SWAT cops giving high fives after shooting and killing some idiot that hijacked a bus load of kids?

the media ragged on them for that, but they did it more of a way to hide the stress and emotions they felt I'm sure. People have weird ways going about unwanted acts like that and relieving the stress...

better to joke about it and get it out than to bottle up and let it haunt you.

What do you want the pilots to say then... "hey guys I don't think this is right killing people. let's just land our helicopter and hand cuff them, so we can take them to prison." Emotion means hesitation, and that means your risking your life and the lives of your comrades.

Secondly one of those vehicles looked like it could have been some type of AA gun, or how do you know those trucks didn't have RPG's or something in there. You think those pilots are gonna wait for those guys to fire at them first?

There quick decision making is the reason you get to sit behind your computer and post up "USA is fugged up...."

Videos of people getting killed are gross.

A person sent me a video of a guy getting his throat slit, and it haunted me for many nights.. don't be like that. People will hate you for it.

Agreed.

There's enough terrible images out there - these are disturbing times.

I hear there's some video, of a guy who has his armed tied to jeeps, and the drive in opposite directions, never seen it, just heard about it from friends. Sounds pretty sick.

I have plenty of friends and family that are/were in the service. I prefer to not pass judgement on the transgression of war and I think that the cable news services do a dis-service to the Military and our society. How can I begin to understand the stress, the mission and the mentality of being at war? I can empathize but not really understand.

do you really think that if we left iraq alone they would of attacked the united states on our soil? i seriously dobt it.. if we never started a war over there and put the money toward somthing els, like oh maby the school systems, then i would still be sitting here infront of my computer.. i have nothing aginst fighting for your country, if we didnt have people fighting for this country then we wouldnt be a country at all, but the fact is we didnt find any nukes in iraq, or anything that could do america alot of harm, and from what i have seen because of what we have done iraq is in a vary bad state at the moment.. im not trying to start a fight with you, you have your own views and i have mine, and no one will ever be right or wrong here.. but thats my veiw and im sticking to it..

To me that is not even the issue, because everyone will have differing views of whether or not we should have gone to iraq... The problem I have is that our brothers and sisters are out there this very moment risking there lives. Before the war started I did not want our troops to get involved in this war. But now that they are, they need our full support. Not people telling them how wrong it is to kill people.

Simple analogy... your boys are about to get in a fight with some other people for a reason you think is stupid. Obviously your gonna try and cool things. But what happens when they start scrappin. You gonna stand there and tell them how fugged up they are for fighting or are you gonna back them up...

That's how I feel, I know this is an ugly war and the reasons behind it might not be just, but the fact is our guys are over there now and they need our full support

Yes, let's do.

It's one thing to not support the US administration (that's understandable in many instances). But not supporting the troops is treasonable (and should result in deportation) in my opinion.

People are just doing their jobs so you can have the freedom to sit here and spout off on a web board (which could cost you your tongue in some countries).

Anyway, thanks for forcing me to use the keys. :(
