I friend of mine says that his car is from Japan, but is LHD & has a KA, but the VIN is a non-US one. The guy he bought it from said that it was made to send to the States, but it never got shipped.

Is this possible?? or is it a hoax/fake??

Thanks for the info.

OK, it didn't make sense to me either, I think the guy just put Silvia logos on it & told him that it's JDM

did you just take his word that it isnt a US vin? because japanese and US have very different vehicle identification number systems and it is imposible to register a "JDM" VIN number. Are you sure he wasnt talking about the engine plate? Either way the dude sounds like a tool for saying his 240sx wasnt sold in america, which is totally impossible because Mexico(maybe), the US and canada are the only countries in the world that sold them.

OK, sorry for the delay, I hadn't seen the car to see what it looked like, I finallay got the chance to do so. It is a USDM 240 with Silvia Emblems front & rear & a Bomex kit, but that's what I told him, he still doesn't believe me, he thought that th "J" in the VIN meant Japan, like JDM, not just made there to be shipped & sold here.

Thanks for all the info.

Tell your friend that every other 240 in the U.S. has a "J" at the beginning of the VIN. Actually, every 240 in the U.S. has "JN1" for the first three digits of the VIN. Ask him how someone else knows the first three digits of his VIN without ever seeing his car.

OK I am very sorry to tell you this but I think your friend need to give one of us the keys to his 240sx because I really believe he does not deserve to drive a 240SX or any Japanese made car!
