i know it's my 1st post and all, but this is urgent. i'm getting rims tomorrow but i want to make sure i get the right size. i want to get the fn01r-c 18 x 9.5 question is, what offset? it has from +12 to +43. i know that the more positive offset it has, the more it is sunken in.another thing is the tires. i know that tires have to be the same diameter as the stock ones or it might mess up w/ the speedometer readings (read this somewhere, please clear it up for me) so what size should i get. ???/35/18 or ???/??/18. speed rating idk yet.this car is not going to see any drift yet or any track but will be fitted w/ coilovers in the next couple of weeks or soon, which ever comes first (tein super drifts or flex, or jic, undecided still)do i need to get:1. hubcentric rings?2. lug nuts (how long?)3. ??? (what else do i need)

if you haven't guessed by now, i'm only getting a PAIR for now (if i wait, i'm not going to be able to save so i decided to buy whatever i can afford atm) and this will be my rears. i'm also going for a staggered fitment. the drop, i'm not sure yet as i don't have the coilovers yet.

and i'll just hide behind this couch cuz i'm scared of you guys..

thanks for helping out.

*EDIT*before you guys flame on me, i have done research and been reading about offsets here and other forums, but none have helped me in picking the right size.

I would get the 18x9.5 +12 with a 245-40-18 tire

Lug nuts yeah your probally going to have to buy a set cause the stock nuts might not fit in the lug hole

Hubcentrics rings is a choice up to you. I didnt have them on my wheels and my car rode perfect about two weeks ago I bought some rings and now my car feels a bit of vibration, Im going to take them off to see if the rings are what caused the problem

The other thing you might need is to roll your fender depending on how low/if you even lower your car

No problem just try to keep your diameter somewhere close to your stock size when buying tires. If you go to www. 1010tires .com they have a little cool tire calculator that you can play with different tire sizes

i forgot to ask about fender rolling and pulling. would i have to do that? what about cambering? what i've read up until now were only about S13s so i'm a little bit confused AGAIN. i'm buying the rims today but i'm a little hesitant because others either have a higher or a lower offset and suggest/recommend/require fender rolling/pulling and/or cambering.still stuck on this...

*ADD-on*will the +12 sit flush? or should i just get a +22 and add spacers? if you can't tell, i'm really excited but scared at the same time too as this is my first 'real' upgrade for my S14 and i want to make sure i'm doing it right.

out of topic question:stock size for the S14 is 16x6.5 +40 (or so i've read). thing is, the tires i have on my S14 is 205/55/16. my question is, 205(.0394) = 8.077" or 205/25.4 = 8.07". is this stock? confused i tell you guys. CONFUSED!

back on topic:did some calculations on 245/40 and 245/35. the ones i have on my car is 205/55. the stock tire OD (outside diameter) is ~24.9". here's how i got to that number:205*.55 = 112.75*2 = 225.5+406.4(16") = 631.9mm or ~24.9"

now w/ the 245/40, total OD would be ~25.72" | 245/35 would be ~24.8".240sxjeff suggested i get the 245/40 but wouldn't the 245/35 be a better choice since it's closer to the stock OD?

thanks for that site naed240sx. still, more questions. what about the offset? 240sxjeff suggested a +12 - any arguements? this car will be lowered but as of now, it's all stock. again, my rims are my first 'real' upgrade.

to 240sxjeff, according to 1010tires.com, a 245/35 size is better than the 40 series being that a tire has to stay "within 3% of the diameter of the original tire. Any more than this and you face the risk of brake failure."

The stock offset is +40 and stock tire size I beleive is 195-60

Yeah your going to have to roll the fender you should do it anyway its easy as hell.the +12 is goign to stick out past the fender and be flush, since you said this is your first mod I assume your car is stock height therefore it will stick out alot like an inchfrom the fender245-35 has way too small of a sidewall for my liking 245-40 is nice.after you lower it the wheel will camber in alot and not be that flush anymoreI have a 9" +15 with 235 tire and its not that flush for me, all I did was roll the rear fender and -2 degrees camberI hope to be going with a wider 10-10.5" wheel with a +12-17 offset in the summer

forgot to add if you want get the +22 to see what it looks like and then add spacers until you get the degree of flushness you want. Its only a 10mm difference between the 2 anyway

hes got an s14, so stock is 205/55/16, s13 are 195/60/15, or 205/60 for se's

plus, theyre 18s, not 17s, so he would be running 245/35, 245/40 would be a 17" size

here's another twist, 5zigenusa.com lists that the 18x9.5 +35 will fit the S14 rear. i still would prefer the publics' opinion and experiences.

Just get the 18x9.5+12 and make it fit.

Thats an easy size. all it needs is a little camber and some lovin on the fender.

see, thing is, i don't know how to roll and/or pull fenders nor do i have the right tool(s) hence the reason why i WANT to get the right fit. if not, i'll just go w/ the +22. or the +35 since that's what 5zigenusa.com listed. if anything, i'll just use spacers (which i'd prefer not to). but please, people, need more input on this matter.

on another note, does anyone know how long shipping is from spl?

Dude, 18x9.5 +12 all around. 3 camber front. 235/40 or 245/40 tires and you'll be good to go.

Rolling fenders is as easy as taking a hammer and flattening it (hammer really is the best way short of a roller)

Pulling fenders is as easy as disconnectinng the shock, piling newspaper on top of the tire and then dropping the car untill you have the travel you want. (once again, best way I've seen short of a roller)

FNs shouldn't take SPL too long to get to you, They have tons of FNs sitting around... im not sure any of them are 18x9.5s though.

SPL is fast as Russelpants said

To roll you need a heat gun (I prefer a torch it works way faster) and a bat, pipe, hammer, rubber mallet, or fender roller from SPL its like 35 bucks per week to rent it (rubber mallet is my choice).

Heat the fender up and bang the inside lip flat; voila rolled fendersIve used both the bat and the roller and the the roller makes it neater but you dont really see it since its on the inside, mallet is nice and quick, bat doesnt make it nice and even all around

Its quite simple to roll fenders it just takes time and patience if you want it to look super nice from under the car
