urgent timing question...KADE

i just got my new head on and i got it started but i belive theres 4 diff. rotor positions you can put the dist. in at. 2 of those positions the car idles near perfect and then i tap the gas and it wants to die. the other 2 positions the idle is pretty high but also very unstable. so my question....is it possible that i just missed time by a notch on the gears? anyone ever have this problem?

yeah, i would say your off a tooth or so. there are 2 dots on the gear. the closest one to the dis needs to line up with the little indention on the dis. then line up the bolt holes so they are straight and push it in and you should be good to go. if you need pictures, search for a write up on timing related articles.

Cams look to be correct. Could just be your dizzy. Is it in good shape? Look for cracks...

theres no cracks on it. i thought i might have missed a cam gear by a notch so i took the top cover off and the top chain and re timed the cams. still the same issue

ITS ALIIIIIIVE!!!!! ITS ALIIIIIIIVE!!!!! with a cracked timing cover...spewing oil like crazy but it runs!
