Urgent response: Vehicle Maintenance question?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi guys, I have a work receipt here from my Infiniti service . I bought an Infiniti Maintenance service plan when i purchased the car back in 2008 . I think I have that 3,500miles Oil change interval for 48 months plus whatever service needed such is 15k, 30k etc. I remember dropping off my car for 30k maintenance and the adviser told me so that they did it. Here is my 1ST question, If you look at the receipt on the bottom right, you `ll see service interval done to my car. Most says VSA Maint which also says 30,000 miles service was done.
Seems like VSA Maintenance is like a normal oil/filter changed. My big question is why a notice shows on the left hand side of the receipt " Recommended Services " it still says
30,000 mile Maintenance ? Does this mean they have not done my 30k service maintenance? and what they had done was (according to the right hand side log shows) was a basic oil change? Now I`m confused! :tisk:

When I bought my Service plan, the lady (who sells all these crap) told me originally that it was the top of the line plan and they uses synthetic oil. When I had my first service, it was all a lie. I complained to the manager and told him what she did and he just apologized and did nothing.

I would phone the Dealer and ask for the Service Manager and get him/her to explain your Bill.

Some Dealers go by "Months" rather than "Mileage". I get "Go for Service" Reminder-cards in the Mail all the time, and the Months exceeds the Mileage everytime. Our EX35 is not a daily driver.

As for the Synthetic Oil issue, do you have it in writing anywhere? If not, do some snooping around the Dealership and ask to see a copy of the "Service Plan" and see what it says.

Depending on the specific wording of your contract the items that are replaced, inspected, or adjusted tend to vary widely. Some cover only oil changes and rotations.

Take a look at the contract you purchased.

As for having done the 30k service they do the next one in line regardless of actual mileage. The company will refuse payment if the claim is improperly filed.

The most likely reason for the recommendation still being there is there may have been some common items that where not addressed with the service contract.

I am betting you are an early oil changer.

It is not a bad thing, but when you follow the coupon book schedule you tend to end up about 1 service ahead of the actual mileage.

I have one client that had his 30k service done (with a service contract) at right around 10,000 miles, but it was by time. Then again I have changed oil in a car with 300 miles on it at the owners request.

Did you have a check engine light at 23k?

Steve, i bring the car for oil change every 3.5 - 3.7k miles. No engine check on all problems i had with the car. I think my 30k service was done at 27.5k per my request.
