i have a coolant leak, trying to figure out where.

at first, i figured it was just leaking from the front cover, but its not on the exhaust side of the motor. its leaking on the intake side, and i dont even think any coolant runs through the intake side of the front timing cover to the block.

i know its not coming from the water pump. and i know its not coming from the coolant neck with the three bolts. its all dry around it. BUT, you can see where the coolant is running from that area, along one of the molding lines on the block, back to the starter, over the starter and down to where the transmission to engine brace/bracket is on the intake side.

normally the front timing cover leaks are on the exhaust side, where the coolant goes from the water pump back into the block.

someone help me figure this out, i dont know if its something thats ON the timing cover, or something that like...is just on the outside of the engine that could be leaking.

info? help?

EDIT: added this picture:

Of course coolant runs through that side of the cover, the coolant enters through the water neck, goes through the water pump, then exits into the block ( actually I think the flos is in the opposite direction but you get the idea. It appears that the front cover is cracked in that area. I don't know if the DE had any problems with the front cover cracking, but it can happen regardless

TRUST me, its not the freeze plug. i was having serious freeze plug leak problems before i swapped this motor out and into this coupe.

theyre all in there good, and the leak is DEFINITELY coming from up around the...radiator bypass hose? i guess you could say. the one that runs from the lower timing cover, and U's up to the upper intake manifold
