Yeah...we are trying to install my boys new headers right now on his 89 hatch, but there is some little tubing **** down at the bottom of the heat shield keeping them from comming off. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or should we just cut them off and leave it at that? Thanks.

considering its unlikely the shield will fit over the new headers my vote is to just cut it off.

yeah ok so we got it off a while ago. pain in the ***. Had to undo the bolt for the 02 sensor from under the car. =( and one of the bolts on the heat shield for the cat was mangled so we couldn't get that off today either. oh well. project continues tomorow.

you NEEEED a can of PB Blaster it will save you tons of work, and tons of broken bolt heads.. especially crappy heat shield bolts. that stuff works great.

i was pulling axels out of my car the other day.. the axels wouldnt come out of the hub.. so we got a sledgehammer and beat it out.. it was still difficult, even with the sledge... for the other axel, we got the pb blaster out.. sprayed the crap outta it, and pushed it out by HAND. <3 pb blaster... no, im not affiliated with them either.
