I started to work on my intake tonight, i'm shortening it so it doesn't have to cross the radiator. I disconnect my battery, took off the intake pipe that goes over the radiator, disconnected AIT, moved the MAF over to the passenger side Re-connected everything, but when i connected the battery, the hazards lights started to flash, and i heard a clicking in the fuse box by the stock airbox location. Car won't turn over, and Check Engine Light is on.

check the code. My guess is it's something funny with your MAF.

pull apart the bulged passenger side kickpanel. Your ECU is in there. Take out the two bolts that hold in the ECU (one is on top, one is on bottom behind the black thing of wires). Then rotate your ECU inwards so the other side of the ECU is facing out towards you. Then put the car in the "on" position, where the CEL dummy light (and the red light on the ECU) stays on and solid. Then twist the screw in the ECU the direction it indicates, hold for 2 seconds, then rotate it back to where it was. Then watch the red light (or your CEL). It will blink in a pattern telling you the engine code. Slow blinks are 10's and fast blinks are ones, so if it goes blink.....blink.....blink..blink..blink..blink..blink, it would be code 34. A list of codes is in the FSM, or you can find them on 240sx.org/faq, and they probably have a better description of how to do it as well.

Is it okay to disconnect the AIT sensor?

Oh, you mean the air intake temperature sensor. I'm pretty sure the car needs it. Is that what you CEL indicates as the problem? I guess you could try unplugging it.
