urgent! engine problem 02 qx4

Hey guys long time since I was last on here. I've been busy with my new apprenticeship.

Anyways, yesterday I for the first time let someone drive my x4, it was my best friend. He was driving it like a grandma so I told him to give it some gas, still didn't go passed 3000 rpms. Told him to hit it half way, car jumps from 3 to 5000 in about a second. Right after, I noticed a ticking sound. I had him hop out I got in, turned if off then on. Still has the ticking, car runs fine, just has loud ticking, no lights or anything, I drove it back home a few blocks away. Pulled up my unclqe was there he says it sounds like a valve is shot..... I let it sit overnight tried it this morning still makes noise. Only thing that has led up to this has been consistent loss of oil, with no visable leaks, and white exhaust all the time...not large amount of white exhaust just a lil smokey... If anyone has any info or tips or knows exactly what's up, help me out please before I do something I'm going to regret. Thanks again.
