Urban exploring. Anyone do it? I want to get into it. Its basicly going into abandoned buildings and exploring. Or just walking around in the woods and finding old buildings or w/e. Its scary and fun at the same time. Sometimes illegal and almost always dangerous... if you do it... bring a weapon. A lot of these buildings are used as shelter for crazy people, gangs, druggies, and homeless people.

http://www.opacity.us/ is a great site demonstrating urbexing and the creepy places you will find.

http://www.insanebunkers.com/index.php?www is a forum dedicated to urbexers from New England. Even if you are not from New England its fun to read.

urbexing?

WTF?

That was just "we are bored, lets go explore the construction site" when I was a kid.

I miss those days, but yeah, going into abandoned buildings was lots of fun.

^ That was like 5 mins from my house. I went up there a bunch of times like 5 years ago. Going up there at night was definitely creepy They would always have a cop up there. About 2 years ago they tore down a good chunk of that place and its now condos. Some of it remains though, someone lit the condos on fire when they were almost done with them.

Yes it was. Going there as a kid and running around was insane. The main building was hugeeee I remember spending almost a full day in there.

Your friend didn't know that was there? How large is his backyard lol?
I wish I could find places like that around here...but those things tend to be around older cities out east and in the midwest. Portland is too new. At least...I think so anyway.
Would be sweet to play paintball in a place like that.

Urban Exploring sounds a bit like trespassing, in some states you can get shot for that. Sounds kind of fun as long as you are under 18.

I grew up in Southern Ma. I remember we used to go to the grave site of Lizzy Borden but that was about it. The S hole I grew up in had a sketch "indian" reservation as well but that only had drugs and drag racing.

We didn't document it on the internet at the time but most likely would have now a days. Interesting pics. :1

The best thing about exploring are getting shots of urban decay. Especially mental hospitals.

Wow... I haven't been here in a while.

I sound like a total retard in my first post. -.-

This thread was made when I first discovered Urban Exploration. Sorry about that.
