Hey all.

I'm doing some pre-purchase investigation for the 6MT coupe I'm going to buy.

I'm definately not digging the idea of under driving, but I noticed that UR sells light weight stock diameter pulley replacements.

Has anyone tried out/encountered these yet?

The few dyno sheets I've seen on stock 6MTs looks like they put down around 245-250 whp (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Intake, exhaust, plenum spacers...etc don't seem to add much power and FI is way out of my budget.

That being said, I'm thinking that any real performance gains are going to come from making the drivetrain as efficient as possible.

So I'm looking at weight reduction on the pulleys and the driveshaft. Though I haven't found much information on the driveshaft.

As far as I know, these are most bang for the buck.

i've got an Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley and I LOVE IT! it doesn't really add much horsepower, though. maybe 4-5. it just changes the way the car drives - that's the BIG diference. exhaust adds much more hp.

i say GO FOR IT!!!!

The most I've seen from intake, exhaust, and plenum spacing is about 15 HP.

You're talking about almost $3000 for high-end HP.

I just thought reducing drivetrain weight would give you 5-10 HP (freed) throughout the whole RPM range and for about $1500.

Any thoughts?

5-10 hp for $1500 is the same as 15-20 for &3000.

stillen exhaust - $1050motordyne spacer - $250stillan CAI intake and z-tube - $260

total - $1560

all those upgrades should equal at least 20 REAL hp. according to the manufacturers they should add up to 40 hp.

every little bit counts
