S13 SR20's are about 205hp and about the same amount of torque, alittle less.. the S14 and S15 are about 15 to 30 hp more powerful than the current versions.. most horsepower is gained from a different turbo.. S15's have T28's and the earlier versions have T25's i believe but the S14 gains horsepower through different cams and head tuning.

dont go w/ the s15 unless you get the s14 transmission... the s15 is 6spd but i've heard they cant hold any extra hp-- the s14/13 transmission can hold more power

When They Do The Swap That Price Does Not Include The ECU And Wiring Harness i Do Not Belive You Have To Buy That Separatly I Think...... And A Question What Is The Diff.. Between The Red And Black Top? And I May Be Able To Anwser The Price Thing But The Prices include installation So It Will Not Be The Price Of The Actual Motor And Trans It Will Be With Installation I'll Have To Call Them Back To See If Stage 1 Includes Wire Harness And ECU.....

Hey guys, I just checked up on this thread..Firstly, there is a differnece between S13 red top, S13 black top, and S14, and S15 SR20DET's- most obviously age. S13 redtops are the oldest and barely put out 180 at the wheels. S13 black tops put out maybe 10 or so more HP. S14 SR20DET's do not use the T25 turbo that the S15 uses, and it will create around 220hp. But, the S14 and S15 engines utilise VVT (Variable valve timing- it is engaged from about 1k RPM's to around 5k RPM's to give S14 and S15 SR20's a slight boost in low to midrange torque) The significance of a S15 SR is the fact that it uses a ball bearing T25 turbo, they were made in 6spds and automatics. The 6spd transmission is not as reliable and really not much of a benefit. Instead of just swapping trannies and paying an assload for the engine, buy an S14 SR, and simply swap out turbos, it is a bolt on job, and can be done by just about anyone. Also, as far as this shop in Raleigh is concerned, I think I've been there before.. Got a NSX, among other things sitting out in front of there.. Nice facility.. If they don't install EVERYTHING for you, I'd order a front clip, maybe through them, maybe through another person- get the clip, and just pay to have that installed. For example, the shop I get most of my stuff from (ViS hood, Buddy Club JDM wheels, etc) is Urban Import. It's off Hillsborough Rd in Durham. I think they quoted me somewhere around 1-1.5k to install an S14 SR, everything running. If I were you, I'd save the extra cash, buy a Zenki, and KA-T the bastard! I know a little more about KAT than SR's/RB's/CA's.. Just drop me a line if you need help

Well See The Reason I Was Looking At This Place In Raleigh Is Becuase They Told Me They Could Get Me The Car For Somewhere Between 150.00 To 600.00 And That Would Save Me Alot Of Money As Far As The Car Is Concernerd...... Cause Right Now I Have A Nissan Maixima And i Was GOing To Do A SR Swap On It But They Told Me That Would Be Kinda Stupid Seeing As I have A V6 3.0 In There Now And My Car Is Heavy Unlike The 240 And THe Sr Wold Do Alot Better In The 240 Which Depending On THe Horse Power It Should Not Matter How Heavy THe Car Is.....1 The Motor Is Alot Lighter Than The V6 The Motor I Would Be Putting In There I Would Say Don't No How Much Power This Stock V6 Is Pushing But 400 HP Is Alot More Than It Is Pushing But Oh Well Still Chacking Options And Places TO Call To Check Out Prices And Stuff.....They Also Told Me To Think About Takin And Putting The Skyline Motor In The 240 Or The Maxima But I Think It Was In The 240 I Don't Know They Got Me Confused.....If You Guys Could Give Me Some Good Places To Call Kinda Local Here Or Around SC That Would Be Good..... Kinda New At This Whole Import Thing If Ya Know What I Mean

theres a place here in greenville that does sr/rb swaps. its called rims and things, i went there to check it out and the people seemed like idiots. they told me they didnt have any sr's. but there was an s14 front clip sitting right there. they also had an r33 front clip with an rb25det that i checked out. i dont know about the quality of work they do, it seemed kinda sketchy and i havent heard anything about them. but the site is http://www.rimsandthings.com if you wanna check them out. i wouldnt really recomend them unless you hear something good from somebody about them.

Nismochick240 - i think i saw that car at the haywood mall a few years back, it was pretty nice. do you know if he ever comes around the greenville area often?

You're right.. I'm not quite sure why you mentioned that.. Just because it spools faster because of low inertia? S15 turbo's were dual ball bearing T28's. If you want to check up on it, the part # is 14411-91F00. Older SR turbos were T25's I believe... S15 T28 is something like 10-15% more efficient than the S14 T28

yeahh.. i was late on getting back on the reply heh. the skyline T28's had a metal wheel that could hold more power with a smaller exhaust housing.. about the same A/R though

and.. your also right about the older SR's being T25. good job.

Phew. Was afraid I might be wrong! haha SR's are nice and all, but it's like putting a turbo Miata engine in your car (1.8L as compared to 2L) and we've got just a little more weight . Well, anyways, I'm off to take the jig saw to 3/4" MDF board and go buy a bunch of fiberglass/resin to build my wheel well sub enclosures for my JL 8W7s. This is going to be quite time consuming.. and pretty damn pricey.. $2.50 a sq. yd for fiberglass online, but the local store wants freaking $7.... $25 a gallon for resin... need to buy fleece.. etc etc.. Oh well, It'll look b-e-a-utiful when I'm done

Firstly, I'm wondering why the hell you're capitalizing every single word... haha don't do that, it's annoying. Also, you should buy speakers that fit in your stock holders, you should have at least four there. (six including custom mounted tweeters). You don't really need more than that. Also, I'd be willing to bet that my two 8" subs would destroy your 12"s I'm going to be selling four of my Phoenix Gold 6 1/2" speakers and 500/4 Phoenix Gold amp in a little bit if youre interested. I also have a MP3/WMA Kenwood head unit...
