anyway anyone have any ideas for payback for this dumb ghetto *** mother ****er?

For me its the downstairs neighbor. I have one word: Landlord. (I'm assuming you live in an apartment if you have downstairt neighbors).

Either that, or call the cops like you suggested above. The police (at least in my area) take that kind of thing very seriously. The punk will be fined and cited, and if he does it again he'll be fined even more.

I would say you should find some terrible, horrible music and play IT really loud, but that'd just make you as big an *** as him.

If he does start playing the music again, just knock on his door, LOUDLY, like with something heavy in your hand, until he shuts it off. Don't stop after he's answered the door and said he'll stop, keep knocking until he actually turns it off. It'll drive him nutty.

Get into the fusebox/circuit breaker for the apartment complex. Turn off the power to his apartment any time it annoys you.

Three small words....landlord and cops. Get them both out at the same time. I think every city has sound ordinances now and if he's violating them then he's violating the apartment's lease agreement. What gets the landlord in trouble gets him in trouble. Do it the right way. If you go messing with this guy in his home he may be the kind of nut to shoot you in the eye.

Yeah. Most lease laws state that a tenant has the right to a reasonably uninterrupted stay. Usually it involves quietness, heating and air, and water.

yeah I called my apt's answering service and they were supposed to send security but as far as I can tell they never showed up. I also tried to get to the fusebox/circuit breaker, but that stuff is all locked up. the only thing accessible from the outside are the meters.

Also, I have lock picks but I'm not big on getting shot or arrested just to turn off someone's radio.

Next time I'm calling the cops.

could be worse, we are having trouble resolving that problem with the girl who lives in the next apt. Our bedrooms border each other. She blasts teenie bopper ****, but sings even louder!on the bright side, we just found a house to move into, just waiting on someone to take on our apt lease- so there is light at the end of the tunnel

The management company didn't respond? Sounds like you could deduct one day's rent from the next check. That would get their attention real quick.

Yea if you could cut the wire that would be awesome. My brother-in-law hooked up to one of the wires and ran extra into his room where he had a toggle switch. Everytime something happened he would just flip it. Think it would turn off the TV...not quite sure been a couple years. Youcould go get a sticker that says "I hate Cops" or somethign relating to that go put it on his door and then call the cops to make him turn down the volume. When the cops knock on the dorr they won't be too happy. This worked very well, we only did this because landlord wouldn't do anything. Had no more problems. Be sure to not get fingerprints on the sticker if you use this idea.

does anyone know what the cops would do if they showed up and his stereo was blazing but no one was home (or at least they weren't answering the door?)This is what seems to be happening all too often. WHY THE HELL DO YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR AND LEAVE THE STEREO UP?

They would probably cite him later and be really pissed off when they had to come out another night and he was there. Like everyone has said notify your land lord and cops at the same time and if the cops show up and not your landlord tell them that you called your landlord first and they seem to not want to help in this problem. Just an opinion it might not work but hell nothing else has seemed to yet.

I have experienced that same thing before. Neighbor plays crappy Rap music, basically all night long.

But, it's only coming out of his house at like 100Db.

So, I just turn on some good ol' Faith Hill and/or Tim Mcgraw and crank that *****. He can't even touch my 130Db at half volume .

It's the funniest thing. He would leave his music playing, and come beat on my door!!! It's like " You frickin moron!! Turn your $hit off, And I may think about turning mine down a little." He usually turns it off!!! If he didn't turn it off, I would just leave the music playing and go to sleep. It's amazing what I could sleep through.

Most likely you can't just deduct, but you if you log an official written complaint (think certified mail) and they don't respond. Then you can put your rent check in escrow (shows ability and willingness to pay rent).
