so my dad ordered me the entire stillen body kit package (Front fascia, rockers, and rear corners) for my birthday January 9th. I recieved the parts and noticed there was a crack on the front fascia. We have talked to stillen numerous times and trying to get it replaced but now they are trying to say it was the shipping companies fault! what a huge mess! All i want is my freaking body work to be done!!

yeah my dad is taking care of it but im just anxious to get it on and see how good it looks in person! Another question is when you have Stillen bucks can you use them all on one purchase or is there a limit, like you can only use $100 at a time? or can you use as much as you have

Dude, take a step back and remember who you are talking about here... STILLEN, not some ebay seller or kid in a garage.

Stillen didnt "flip flop" and take responsibility for the crack because they would have never shipped it out if it was damaged, its just not good business practice!

They insure everything they ship out for good reason... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcIOy6Xc ... Ns0Jv7D7Q4

So just be happy that the stuff is insured, and you will get your parts in perfect condition! Its not Stillen's fault, we all know they manufacture high quality products... they cant be responsible for shipping idiots!

FYI I bought an injen intake from stillen when they had bad welds... injen hung me out to dry and wouldnt help me... but guess who did? STILLEN!

Also this was BEFORE I was a moderator, so dont think I got any special treatment Without valuing your customers, you wont have any... Stillen knows this!

Put your flame suit on, and get ready for a bunch of people telling you your spoiled.

As for your problem, try contacting UPS. If it is cracked Stillen really isn't liable for it. Hope it works out.

do not worry. same thing happened to me with my fascia, only difference is I saw all of the "please inspect contents immediately" stickers all over the box, and noticed the damage and did not accept delivery. Stillen made everything all better. I shipped it back and they sent me a new one.

oh yeah, and.......... I paid for mine

Is this the primered fascia???

The claim has been filed with Fedex and we are working hard on it for you.

Next time though you might want to inspect the parts immediately after you receive them...It will be hard to fight the claim since the parts have already been received and primed. But, we'll fight for you and get this resolved as quickly as possible. I see that our customer service manager has also already sent you the repair instructions so that in case Fedex does deny the claim at least you can get it fixed pretty easily...We're fightin' for ya!

I always hate to set things up as examples but this is exactly why we always recommend that our customers thoroughly inspect the package as soon as they receive it. Every single package that leaves our facility is tagged with a big yellow sticker that also recommends inspecting the parts for any damage that might have been caused during shipping.

This is crazy I had almost the exact problem with my previous car. I had order a carbon fiber front lip for my Supra, and had the lip delivered to the body shop where my car was getting worked on. Well it came in a timely manor, and the guy at the body shop signed for the package, the UPS delivery guy brought out the box and yeah when the guy at the shop opened up the box the lip had a huge crack down the middle of it. I immediately contacted the company, Seibon, and they said it was UPS's fault. So when i contacted UPS they said "because you signed for it we assume the product was in 100% condition and take no further responsibility." Which is a bunch of BullS#$t, i mean who honestly opens up the package inspects everything AND THEN sign for it. 95 percent of the time the package is either in the delivery guys hands or still in the truck before you sign. So even if you inspect it right after you sign you are still screwed.

In the end the shop ended up molding some kevlar on the backside of the lip to make it hold but it still had a splinter crack down the middle of it. Sorry 08CoupeDaddy, hopefully the shop can repair it or stillen can maybe help out and swap it out, but I tried to fight UPS and trust me you won't get very far. I even took high res photos of the lip still half way in the box with the crack, time stamps... and filed it with UPS and they never got back to me.

I second that! I've never had any bad experience with Stillen and almost 99% of the time, it ts the shipping company that breaks the stuff before it gets to you. I Know, I used to work for UPS in my late teenage years and I saw it happening..and that was in the late 80's!

08coupedaddy, take a chill man. It's not all about you and you're needs. yes, I understand that all you want is to have the parts painted and installed on your car but jeeze, you're attitude reminds me of my teenage son. Why don't you just throw a hissy fit because it's raining. Be happy that you're daddy was nice enough to buy the stuff for you AND to handle the discrepancies with the shipping companies.

IMO, Stillen is going over and beyond customer service with helping you out! If you think about it, Kyle is right, a full inspection should have been done upon receipt of the products before signing the delivery statement. And then to make matters worst, you went and got them painted That right there, Stillen could have said, tough luck man.

No offense man but grow up!

That Sucks but that happened to me before too and luckily for me, when the ED rear bumper was delivered, it was right to the shop and my body guy made the delivery guy wait until he opened the box and inspected before signing it.

wasn't there another thread just like this the other day? And Stillen isn't killing you dude. You seriously should have inspected the product and even worse you went so far as to have it primed for paint when it was cracked. Good luck, but you'll be lucky to get anything back and you better be taking some notes from you dad if he resolves this for you because you really should be handling your own problems.

Little harsh vonivo.

To be honest I don't think he inspected it at all though, I think the body shop received it for prime and paint and told him "hey why's this crack here"

Let's get something straight. I have a kid that goes to Penn State and for a birthday gift, we gave him $100. The Birthday "gift" that you got from your old man was over a $1K! Yeah, Admit it or Not, You're Spoiled and I would venture that most of the guys/girls here would think the same. Ok, so you've bought everything that you've done to the coupe but let me ask you this?...Who bought the coupe? I'm betting Daddy did for Last Years Birthday huh?

no he didnt buy it for my birthday present? i Sold my last tricked out truck and he paid the rest for graduation? Why are people getting mad because im "spoiled"? and maybe my dad just likes to take care of me? he has never had just a stock car. Its just how he is, he always has to have something custom or tricked out. Thats how i was raised and thats how ill be for the rest of my life.

I wonder who paid for the "tricked out trucK"

However, while you may be spoiled, if your dad wants to buy everything for you and old your hand your entire life, then so be it....

So coupe daddy who bought you the tricked out truck???

Ok what he means by hold your hand is paying for your tricked out truck, paying for the rest of your coupe, buying you the body kit. Making phone calls for you. Prolly paying for your college, room and board and spending money.i guarantee you dont have a job, cuz being a full time college student is hard.

So what he means by holding your hand is spoiling you...

sorry 2 sound harsh but open your eyes bro...

Guys...Calm down!!!

There's no need to question who pays for anyone's parts...That's no one's business but the car owner.

I'll bet that everyone here thinks that my Daddy pays for all my vehicle's and parts because I'm Steve Millen's son. WRONG. I paid for and built all of my vehicle's on my own except my very first one when I was 16. And that was a used GMC Sonoma.

I appreciate everyone standing up for STILLEN and reinforcing the fact that it really isn't our fault. However, no one should be jumping down this guy's throat because his Dad gave him a birthday gift. That's just not necessary. It really is no one's business. The OP was just trying to voice his frustration with his situation.

Again, I appreciate your support of STILLEN. But give the guy a break. At the end of the day, he's an enthusiast who enjoys modifying his cars just like the rest of us. No one should question or care about how he gets his parts or whether or not he pays for them.

Yeah I gotta agree with Kyle here. No need to bite this guys head off. Regardless or not if you think he is spoiled, it's not related to the topic at hand.

The valuable lesson here, as pointed out, is to not let the UPS guy run away before you have time to inspect the part being mailed to you, and not sign anything until you are sure everything is in order with your shipment.
