Dude, take a step back and remember who you are talking about here... STILLEN, not some ebay seller or kid in a garage.08coupedaddy wrote:so my dad ordered me the entire stillen body kit package (Front fascia, rockers, and rear corners) for my birthday January 9th. I recieved the parts and noticed there was a crack on the front fascia. We have talked to stillen numerous times and trying to get it replaced but now they are trying to say it was the shipping companies fault! what a huge mess! All i want is my freaking body work to be done!!

The claim has been filed with Fedex and we are working hard on it for you.
Next time though you might want to inspect the parts immediately after you receive them...It will be hard to fight the claim since the parts have already been received and primed. But, we'll fight for you and get this resolved as quickly as possible. I see that our customer service manager has also already sent you the repair instructions so that in case Fedex does deny the claim at least you can get it fixed pretty easily...We're fightin' for ya!
I always hate to set things up as examples but this is exactly why we always recommend that our customers thoroughly inspect the package as soon as they receive it. Every single package that leaves our facility is tagged with a big yellow sticker that also recommends inspecting the parts for any damage that might have been caused during shipping.
I second that! I've never had any bad experience with Stillen and almost 99% of the time, it ts the shipping company that breaks the stuff before it gets to you. I Know, I used to work for UPS in my late teenage years and I saw it happening..and that was in the late 80's!Bmore-coupe wrote:
I vote that this post be renamed "UPS is killing me!"
Stillen
That Sucks but that happened to me before too and luckily for me, when the ED rear bumper was delivered, it was right to the shop and my body guy made the delivery guy wait until he opened the box and inspected before signing it.Flypinoy457 wrote:This is crazy I had almost the exact problem with my previous car. I had order a carbon fiber front lip for my Supra, and had the lip delivered to the body shop where my car was getting worked on. Well it came in a timely manor, and the guy at the body shop signed for the package, the UPS delivery guy brought out the box and yeah when the guy at the shop opened up the box the lip had a huge crack down the middle of it. I immediately contacted the company, Seibon, and they said it was UPS's fault. So when i contacted UPS they said "because you signed for it we assume the product was in 100% condition and take no further responsibility." Which is a bunch of BullS#$t, i mean who honestly opens up the package inspects everything AND THEN sign for it. 95 percent of the time the package is either in the delivery guys hands or still in the truck before you sign. So even if you inspect it right after you sign you are still screwed.
In the end the shop ended up molding some kevlar on the backside of the lip to make it hold but it still had a splinter crack down the middle of it. Sorry 08CoupeDaddy, hopefully the shop can repair it or stillen can maybe help out and swap it out, but I tried to fight UPS and trust me you won't get very far. I even took high res photos of the lip still half way in the box with the crack, time stamps... and filed it with UPS and they never got back to me.
Maybe so butRob.Vegan wrote:Little harsh vonivo.
To be honest I don't think he inspected it at all though, I think the body shop received it for prime and paint and told him "hey why's this crack here"
08altima35 wrote:wasn't there another thread just like this the other day? And Stillen isn't killing you dude. You seriously should have inspected the product and even worse you went so far as to have it primed for paint when it was cracked. Good luck, but you'll be lucky to get anything back and you better be taking some notes from you dad if he resolves this for you because you really should be handling your own problems.
vonivo wrote:yea this spoiled little kid has his daddy order him a full kit from Stillen and then goes and has it primed for painting and then says oh wait theres a crack...then he has his daddy go and take care of it for him...oh wait my bad hes not a kid hes 20 and still having daddy do this stuff for him you need to start taking care of things on your own you should have 2 years ago at least. you knew it was a big fiberglass product you dident inspect it had it painted and now call foul on fedex or stillen ...something stinks here i think this thread only speaks in half truths but even if it dosen't it just shows a severe lack of responsibility and maturity.
yeah this was the one that is primered. I appreciate what you guys are doing for me man really! Sorry for the hassle.kyle@stillen wrote:Is this the primered fascia???

Let's get something straight. I have a kid that goes to Penn State and for a birthday gift, we gave him $100. The Birthday "gift" that you got from your old man was over a $1K! Yeah, Admit it or Not, You're Spoiled and I would venture that most of the guys/girls here would think the same. Ok, so you've bought everything that you've done to the coupe but let me ask you this?...Who bought the coupe? I'm betting Daddy did for Last Years Birthday huh?08coupedaddy wrote:yeah i dont really care tho! Im not spoiled, i have paid for everything ive done to my coupe? it was a damnn birthday present but i guess for recieving a birthday present means "im spoiled"
LOL.. I was a full time student and worked full time, and drank my *** off and still had time to make a phone call if something was this damn important...08coupedaddy wrote: Yeah i apologize for being a full time student at OU and dont have time
