seymore4, is the man, I was in the process of getting mine done then as usual something always pops up, you ask a question he is right on it and responds back to you emails very quickly.
Before I traded in my car a couple of weeks back I was planning to reflash my Uprev license back to my cable and my tuner informed me that Uprev is no longer allowing this. The license must now stay on the vehicle it’s on. Apparently this was a new change that was implemented sometime last month.
Ilya, are you aware of an alternative? I want to do it after exhaust...but this is disheartening news.Ilya wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:26 pm+1 for Joe.
UpRev as a company sucks. Their product is half decent but if they continue down the path they are on with how they treat their customer base and some of their decisions related to management of their software...they will not be around long. I work in the IT/software sector...seen it many times.
I personally will not use them next time I need to tune an Infiniti (assuming I can't use my existing license).
Jack, see above. I've seen ECUTEK mentioned a lot lately...definitely worth looking into.paranoidjack wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:00 pmIlya, are you aware of an alternative? I want to do it after exhaust...but this is disheartening news.Ilya wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:26 pm+1 for Joe.

I'm interested in the cable and license, PM me? Thanks.DKASM37 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 7:36 amSince you're not having any luck with your local tuner you should look into RS-Enthalpy, he's a well known tuner in the Tampa, FL area who tuned my M37. This guy netted me an extra 30 whp on my M37 with basically only a Stillen near cat back exhaust. He definitely knows his s***. I know he tunes the 5.6's as well. He does remote tuning but you would need an Uprev cable with a previous license to do it which I have for sale if anyone wants to buy it. I'll post a link to his website below:

I got a hold of him via email and he is great to work with. Haven't done anything yet, it was yesterday. But if you email him at [email address redacted by request of poster], he'll get back with you. I have to do exhaust first.knelson wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 1:39 pmOk great, I’ll try to give him a call.DKASM37 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 7:36 amSince you're not having any luck with your local tuner you should look into RS-Enthalpy, he's a well known tuner in the Tampa, FL area who tuned my M37. This is not true, the shop just didn't want to jump through the hoops to get your license back. Also, its much more profitable to sell you another one.DKASM37 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 8:09 am

That’s good information to know. That shop told me that if I called Uprev directly, that Uprev might be willing to make an exception and let me remove my license from the vehicle since that so called new rule had just recently started. I didn’t think it was worth the hassle since I was buying a hybrid & not planning to tune it this time around so I never looked into it. Again, the key word was “exception” so figured that this was something set in stone by Uprev.seymore4 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 5:34 pmThis is not true, the shop just didn't want to jump through the hoops to get your license back. Someone figured out how to hack the software and steal licenses so Uprev had to change the software so that it deletes the license when you flash back to stock. You have to send them before and after screenshots, and a license report and they will give you another license.
You are correct. HOWEVER if your specific ECU version was already supported then you did not have to pay, since it is already unlocked.
If your ECU version is already unlocked we can still tune it. This has nothing to do with having Uprev installed or not. It depends on which version of the ECU you have.
My tune shop said that HP has just launched software that can support our vehicle. I might be saying his wrong, I’m talking to them again tomorrow. But they said it’s brand new and can likely allow the car to be tuned. Do you guys know of this?seymore4 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 6:44 amYou are correct.
