upper vents not working?

NONE of the upper vents are working. defrost seems unaffected. fuses are all good. and yes, the little doors are open.

Okay, does the air conditioning work when turned on?

it actually does. just no vents. apparently its both the upper and lower vents. the blower works on 3 and 4 and the defrost vents do work.

Okay, so when the a/c is on, the only air vent that works is defrost, right?

If you turn on the heat (a/c off) do any other air vents work? (Remember you will need the car warmed up to get the heat to come on in the summer).

Just so I know, do you or someone you know have a fair amount of experience working on cars?

I have a friend who does. I only have til friday to figure things out with him tho as I leave to move to reno on sat.

i havent even turned on the heat...let me try that tomorrow..or later tonight...

Reno! wow! Are you driving this car, and how far from where you live now?

Make sure the "mode" switch ( the 3rd knob on the right) is not set to defrost when testing - move it around. You probably already did that, just want to be sure.

from california. roughly 210 miles. yup, traveling in the pathy! thats why the hurry in getting her ready!

Ok, just to be sure, did the heat work? And if it did, it came out thru the defrost vents like before?

I have a similar issue. My AC only works in defrost mode. I only get hot air from the vents. Mine has the automatic climate control cluster.
