OK, so the lower timing chain is on and so is the cover. The little silver notch was not matched up(oops). My question is, how do I tell if the head is top dead center? I read the installation hints, but they all use the silver link in the lower chain as the reference point. Since I know that the block is tdc can I just go off that? If I can go on without having to remove the lower timing cover, what do the cams or sprockets look like? Can The lower timing chain go in improperly? even if its in on the tracks?
