this may be a dumb question but whats the difference between a pillow mount and a strut insulator ?is there a difference?the reason i ask is, i removed my strut bar to change my strut and springs but while i was removingthe last bolt the stud started turning with it . the stud pulled free from the mountneedless to say i need a new one or pair if i can get them.any sugestions on where i can get the upper strut mount at decent price?thanks in advance.

You can get a KYB strut mount that is a direct OE replacement for about $60 on tirerack.com.

Usually, when people are talking about a pillowball mount, they're talking about one of these. This would replace the part you broke, but it's much more expensive.

Unlike the rubbery OE mount, aftermarket pillowball mounts are solid pieces of aluminum with a spherical bearing. A much more rigid part. As a plus, the front pillowball mounts allow for some camber adjustability!

Anyway, if you want to just replace the broken mount with a stock or near-stock piece, I think the KYB part would be the cheapest way to do so.
