Upper strut bar Torque Specs

Does any one know how many Lbs. of torque i should put on my new front upper strut bar..?i have a 1998 240sx se.thanks for any info!Austin

If it doesn't come with torque specs... just tighten it until you feel it's tight... if you over tighten you might snap a bolt.. do it by feel

Wouldn't you torque it the same as the strut bearing plate nuts without the bar? Or are you talking about a different nut?

Yes but im not sure if they even have a torque spec written down... but if they do then torque it to that...

The Nissan Factory Service Manual (for my 1995 240SX) says that the 3 nuts on the "strut mounting insulator"--sometimes called the 'upper strut mount' or 'strut bearing plate'--should be torqued to 29-40 ft-lbs. (or 39-54 N-m, or 4.0-5.5 kg-m).

Unless someone can say why less/more is better, I would torque the nuts to the same measurement. BTW, the nuts should be tighted under unladen condition with the tires on the ground.

Hope this helps. S13s and later model S14s may be different, but this is at least something.
