I've noticed this issue for a long time (probably 40,000+ miles), whenever wiggling the wheel back and forth I get a very noticeable clunk. It's coming from the upper steering shaft u-joint, the one near the firewall, not the radiator. I can't seem to find the part anywhere, any suggestions? It has definitely affected the ride quality as well as I get major bump steer and wheel wobble over almost any dip or bump in the road.

I'm sorry to be so dense, but what do you mean you can't find the part anywhere? Are you looking on your SUV for the part? Are you looking in a manual for the part? Are you looking at a dealership or parts store for the part? Do you need the name of the part? Is your part broken or just have some loose nuts?

The FSM gives nice names to all the parts on pages 11 and 13...

It would be the name of the part...its on page 12, the last drawing on the page where the nut connects the wheel assembly to the column. I can't figure out what part that is or whether it's just loose bolts like you said.
