just noticed a leak from my upper oil pan gasket.

Whats involved with replacing this seal??

Does this mean accessing the front and rear main seal?Transmission and flywheel removal?

I just had the transmission out for a clutch.

and i really dont feel like doing it again.

if so im thinking of just yanking out the motor again!!! for a couple days

Yeah, that sucks. There's no actual gasket, you use liquid gasket. I'm going to be extra careful when making this gasket when I reassemble my sr

And yeah good luck pulling the upper pan off with out taking the engine out, or at least lifting the engine cause you won't be able to clear the crossmember

You'll need to drop the crossmember to do this job regardless. Doing that really isn't that hard to do.

Put a jackstand onder the transmission bellhousing and it should support the entire motor just fine.

You also do not need to remove the trans, just the lower bolts that go from bellhousing to oil pan.

Remember to remove the 2 little nuts in the rear that go into the rear main seal housing too.

Import Gray Sillicone is all you need. Just run a good bead around the entire upper pan, and yo'll be gravy. Obviously make sure to clean both surfaces well before applying new sillicone.
