I've removed all the bolts on the top, the entire egr system, and the braces on the sides of the engine but it still won't come off. is there some bolts on the back I can't see because of all the hoses?

Before you start prying, did you remove all 8 bolts? Count how many you removed, because there are 7 regular bolts and one weird stud/bolt combo, you can see it in this pic:

Also, did you remove all the coil packs, ground wires, and coolant hoses attached to it?

http://z32.wikispaces.com/Intake+Manifold+Removal - Double check all of your steps. It's possible the PO may have RTV'd it down rather than using the paper gasket. I did this once when I didn't have a paper gasket. The next time it was a b**** to get off. I ended up carefully standing over the engine and pulling upward. Sometimes some love taps from a rubber mallet can help too.

..... I thought that weird bolt was a sensor or something that didn't go all the way through the intake. thanks....
