"Upolstery" Cleaning

.... so I was doing some maintenance on the Leather seating using Mink Oil which works really well to keep the Leather "Kid Glove Soft" and I'm getting in between the Console and the Seat edges. Some Mink Oil gets onto the "Suede" material which covers the Console edges. I can't "rub" it out the darker stained area. Does anyone know of any water / ??? mix which will get this Oil out without discoloring or leaving a ring around the stained area ? I wouldn't be so particular but this is on my baby --- a close to '10' assembly-line stock Commemorative edition TTZ with only 14, 850 miles on the meter. Any suggestions would be appreciated from anyone who has done this kind of cleaning with success.

I used a bit of mean green degreaser sprayed with a bottle and scrubbed gently and misted the surrounding area with warm H20 and blotted entire area and came back with a soft bristle Detailer's brush ($1 soft toothbrush will work).

This has worked for me and I wish you well.

So, are you saying to "pre-wet" the area around the spot with warm water only before treating the spot itself w/ the degreaser ( SimpleGreen ? ) and warm water and soft brush ?

No, after I cleaned the soiled area... mist the surrounding areas so that you will not have a water/clean ring area. Then I use my soft bristle brush make sure the fabric is uniform so when it dries it'll look the same

Does anyone know for certain if the interior surface material around the console, glove box, headliner, etc. is "Alcantara" ?

I know it's not any leather material like suede although it has the feeling and look of suede if you rub it backwards the surface tone of the material changes lighter / darker.

which is specially for cleaning this Alcantara material but want to be sure that is what I'm dealing with.

Just FYI, the autrogeeks.com web site is a real goldmine of hard to find detailing tools and potions for people who are into show cars and such.

you could also look into sudzbox and ammo nyc. id personally go with ammo nyc though
