upmotor rocking

hey...my i got an 89 240sx fastback wit the SOHC 12 valve and like when its fully warmed and in neutral or any gear with the clutch in(in gear) the engine rocks back and forth and rocks the whole car and the shifter rocks and everything.idk...it is a truck motor afterall and i figured it was nothing but maybe not....help me out

when its fully warmed it idles at 600-800 rpms...anyway of changing this? or is it supposed to idle that low

Its supposed to idle that low (actually at ~750 RPMs). Your rocking problem is more than likely blown engine mounts. Not too hard to change, just kind of awkward to get at if you dont know what you're doing.

Before the engine mounts I would check the ingnition system. Wires, plugs, etc.. When I first bought mine it did that. I found that it was a faulty wire on the fourth cylinder.

ahh i see..thanks alot guys..im gonna rule out the wires tho cus they are brand new plugs and wires and on the right cylinders...ill have my mechanic look at the motor mounts and sh** when i put it on the lift..aight thanks alot again
